Another short story.

Stone

"Why stone?" asked the girl.

"I was alive once," said the gargoyle.

"I too laughed, played, danced, loved...

"And lost.

"It hurt. I cried. The pain was unbearable.

"So I turned into stone. Stone feels no pain."

The girl looked at the gargoyle silently. Then she walked away.

The gargoyle didn't.

The End

Kiran Mayee: Thanks. But completed? :) I'll take that as a sign that you want me to stop :)

Gayathri: Thank you :) I tried writing a version of the Hare and the Tortoise long ago where the Hare wins. That one wasn't as much fun :)

The Arbit Council: Thanks!

Kumari: Poignant! Now that's what the title of this post should have been! Well... too late now. :)

Well, 5 Tags are done, but, if you are having some more ideas in your mind, we are there to read them and voice our opinions :-)

Actually, your stories gave/give me relief from the hectic work schedule. Posting this from India at this hour, just imagine :-)
